FAQ

Common questions.

What does the analysis cost?+

Nothing. The analysis is free. We calculate your refund opportunity for you across every entry, every duty type, no upfront fee.

If you choose to recover the refunds with our help, we work on a success basis on duties recovered. We'll walk through that on the call.

What data do you need?+

Just your ACE account. Connect it in a few minutes and we'll handle the ingestion, normalization, and analysis on our end. You don't need to pull any reports or send us files.

How long does the analysis take?+

Most analyses are returned within 1–2 business days. Larger import portfolios can take a few days more. We'll set expectations on the call.

Is my data safe?+

Yes. We work under a standard Data Processing Addendum. Your data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256). We don't share it with third parties, and we don't use it for anything beyond your analysis.

What's IEEPA, and why does it matter?+

IEEPA is the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, used by the previous administration as the legal basis for a sweeping tariff regime, the same one the U.S. Court of International Trade has now ruled unauthorized.

That ruling created a clear path for importers to recover duties paid under those IEEPA tariffs. We quantify your refund opportunity across both IEEPA authorities — IEEPA Reciprocal and IEEPA Fentanyl. Section 301 and Section 232 duties are analyzed for context but aren't refundable through this path.

What are the recovery phases?+

Every IEEPA-paying entry sits in one of three windows, defined by the gap between its liquidation date and today. The window dictates how — and whether — you can recover.

  • CAPE Phase 1 — unliquidated, or liquidated within the last 80 days. Submittable through CBP's CAPE portal. This is the bulk of most recoverable books.
  • Protest Recommended — liquidated 81–180 days ago. Past the CAPE cutoff but still inside the 180-day protest window under 19 CFR § 174.12(e). Recovery requires a formal protest filing.
  • Out of Window — liquidated more than 180 days ago. No recovery path. We surface these on the report so you can see what was missed.

Your analysis shows the dollar value sitting in each bucket, by entry, by authority — so you know what to file first and what's already past deadline.

What if I'm already with a broker?+

Doesn't matter. We work alongside whoever filed your entries. The analysis is non-disruptive to your existing broker relationships.

How do I actually recover the refund?+

Depending on the entry's window, recovery happens through CBP's CAPE portal (Phase 1) or a formal protest filing (81–180 days). Our team handles the filing for you, end to end.

Filing deadlines apply. Every liquidated entry has an 80-day CAPE window and a 180-day protest cutoff. Once both expire, the refund is gone.
